Basant All India Art Exhibition Brightens The Centrum with Colors of Spring

The Centrum, Lucknow’s cultural hub, recently hosted the Basant All India Art Exhibition, organized by Kala Dirgha International Visual Art Magazine in celebration of the vibrant Basant Utsav. The exhibition was inaugurated by Dr. G.K. Goswami, IPS, Additional Director General of Police and Founding Director of the Uttar Pradesh State Institute of Forensic Science, Lucknow. Lighting the ceremonial lamp, Dr. Goswami remarked, “Art purifies the soul, and being an artist is a special blessing from the divine.”
Curated by Dr. Leena Mishra under the guidance of Dr. Awadhesh Mishra, the exhibition featured works by 21 prominent artists, including Dr. Lalit Gopal Parashar, Ravikant Pandey, Dr. Rakesh Kumar Maurya, Dr. Anita Verma, Sumit Kumar, Archita Mishra, Anurag Gautam, and many more. The diverse artworks reflected the essence of Basant through painting, photography, printmaking, and textile design, celebrating creativity in all its forms.
Basant Utsav, marking the arrival of spring, holds deep cultural significance in India. It encompasses festivals like Basant Panchami, dedicated to Goddess Saraswati, the deity of knowledge and arts, and Holi, symbolizing love, unity, and togetherness. The exhibition beautifully echoed the spirit of the season, with each artwork resembling the vibrant hues of blossoming gardens.
Dr. Leena Mishra highlighted the legacy of Kala Dirgha, established in 2000, as a platform for nurturing senior and emerging artists. Marking its silver jubilee, the magazine continues to promote Indian art globally, with successful exhibitions in cities like New Delhi, London, Dubai, and Muscat.
The event was further graced by the presence of Mr. Sarvesh Goel, the visionary owner of The Centrum, who reaffirmed the hotel’s commitment to promoting cultural and artistic initiatives. Exhibition coordinators Dr. Anita Verma and Sumit Kumar expressed their hope that the event would inspire visitors and spread positivity through creative expressions.
The Basant All India Art Exhibition remains open to the public at The Centrum until February 9, from 12 PM to 7 PM, offering art enthusiasts an opportunity to immerse themselves in the beauty of spring through the lens of artistic expression.
